Screen_Shot_2016-09-01_at_8.09.17_PMThe Norwegian Escape, a cruise ship from the Norwegian Cruise Line made its second trip into Belizean waters yesterday marking a very important landmark for the country of Belize with a total of five thousand twenty passengers and one thousand two hundred crew members. While the Norwegian Escape’s customary route is to the Eastern Caribbean, they are now moving towards the Western Caribbean direction, including Belize.

A routine Plaque Exchange Ceremony was held on-board where the Director of Cruise and Regional Initiatives of the Belize Tourism Board, Miss Noriko Gamero and Captain Carl Gunnar Hammerin from the Norwegian Escape made the exchange.

The vessel is categorized under the ‘Breakaway plus’ class of cruise ships along with the Norwegian Bliss which features interiors with innovative designs and luxurious amenities such as an aromatic salt room, a thermal pool and sauna to name a few.

The Norwegian Escape’s first call to Belize took place on August 17th, 2016 in which approximately four thousand two hundred forty eight passengers and one thousand seven hundred thirty one crew members were aboard. The Plaque Exchange ceremony had been originally scheduled to take place during the ship’s first call, however, it was postponed as a result of the inclement weather at that time.
