utility-unionsThe Utility Unions, which comprises of the Belize Water Services Workers Union, the Belize Energy Union and the Belize Communication Workers Union have pledged their support for the Belize National teachers Union. In a joint press release issued earlier today, the three unions expressed their support for the 3% increase for the BNTU as per their agreement with the Government of Belize.


The Utility Unions’ also urged the Joint Negotiating Team (JNT) to come together and put an end to the salary deferral issue.

In addition, the unions made clear that the issues brought forth to GOB by the BNTU would have been better addressed and resolved if all unions had acted together under one umbrella which is the NTUCB.

The Unions’ furthermore reiterated their agreement with the BNTU that government must set the foundation for good governance in Belize.
