Screen_Shot_2016-11-15_at_8.10.41_PMLast night we reported that after an entire week of investigation carried out by the Orange Walk Police Formation against one of their own after a report of police brutality was made against him by twenty one year old Hugo Noh, a Guinea Grass resident, the case file was sent to the DPP for further instructions. Tonight we can tell you that Police Constable Jaime Gongora was formally arrested and charged this afternoon at the Orange Walk Magistrate’s Court. During his arraignment, Gongora plead not guilty and was offered bail in the sum of $4,000 plus one surety of the same amount. The case was adjourned for the 21st of February, 2017.

Gongora is accused of hitting Noh with a pistol after an altercation ensued between them in front of a Chinese store in the village of Guinea Grass. According to witnesses both men were reportedly under the influence of alcohol.
