A resident of Trial Farm Village here in the Orange Walk District is sitting behind bars tonight at the Central Prison after he was formally arrested and charged this morning for the murder of twenty six year old Manuel Alejandro Toloza which occurred last month. After several weeks of intensive investigations, Orange Walk police managed to detain twenty three year old Elroy Arnold who appeared in court today for his arraignment. Since the case is an indictable one, no plea was taken from Arnold and as a result he was immediately remanded to the Hattieville Prison.
Viewers may recall that on the night of Saturday October 29th, Toloza was socializing in front of a Chinese establishment in the village of Trial Farm when an altercation reportedly ensued between him and another individual. Further reports indicate that after Toloza and the said individual parted ways, Toloza was attacked by a group of male persons just a few yards away from where he stood prior to the incident. Sometime in the middle of the assault, Toloza received two stab wounds one of which proved to be fatal.
And while Elroy Arnold is scheduled to make a second appearance in court on the 28th of December 2016, police are currently looking for two other persons in connection with the murder and charges including ‘Abetment to murder’ are yet to be levied against these individuals.
