“He won simply because there were these marginalized people that felt that they have been forgotten for so long and the same thing has to apply in Belize that we are having more and more people that are marginalized that feel that they have been forgotten, that feel that they have been abandoned and we as a PUP we also have to take a closer look with the lessons of the American election and to make sure that policies that we have to put forward will be able to be inclusive of everyone especially the people, have I said over and over that the people that have been successful in this country don’t need much help from government they want government to get out of the way for them to be able to continue to succeed but it is the poor people that needs help, people that can’t send their children to school we need to find a way that we can ensure that everybody every child has an opportunity to go to school at the very least to sixth form that the poor people should have access to a parcel of land from government and the rich people should buy their own land they shouldn’t get no land from government, that we should be able to work with the private sector so that we can create jobs, jobs, jobs and more jobs, that there can be health clinic for the poor people, that we have hospitals that are operating and we can assure you that these are the issues that as the new PUP government are going to be tackling head on from day one.”
