Since taking office in 2012 the Orange Walk Town Council has been hard at work in improving infrastructure in our Town and have successfully rehabilitated a total of 35 streets across town in addition to five drainage projects and cemented 8 intersections. But the work does not end there for Mayor Bernard and his team and more street works are in the books. Today we spoke to Mayor Bernard who gave us a rundown of what those works are.
Mayor Kevin Bernard – Orange Walk Town Council
“Right now in terms of our infrastructure project we have WASA is working on Tate Street they are changing their pipelines immediately as soon as they finish we are going to see the paving of both Tate Street, Progress and by that time WASA would have already been working on Arthur Street which we should see also two coats paving on those roads, we have also made a decision that there is a section of Progress Street, that junction just by Crystal that T that links to Democracia and then in that area it keep breaking up and then heavy equipment use there and so we are looking at the possibility to cement that intersection during the project so there will be some inconvenience when those works start and I ask the patients of those residence again all this is for the enhancement of our town to improve our infrastructure.”
Residents are advised to exercise caution when traversing in these areas and to maintain to date with their taxes.
