noImageTonight there is a sketchy report of a sizable weapons and ammunition bust made on Monday night here in Orange Walk. Our news team has been following this story after we received information of a shootout in the area of Liberty Avenue but due to new media policies implemented by the Police Department it has been quite difficult to obtain much information on the matter from authorities. Our own investigation however, indicates that a high powered assault rifle and over one hundred rounds of ammunition were found in an operation by Police. Information is that there was an AR-15 Rifle with a scope, along with seventy six rounds of .223 ammunition and fifty rounds of 7.62 ammunition- these we must note are used in assault rifles. According to official police reports two persons have been arrested and charged, while a third is awaiting charges. Fifty nine year old Jorge Leiva, of Unity Street here in Orange Walk along with twenty four year old Larissa Zetina have been charged with kept Ammunition without a license. Reports are that one of the male suspects was caught fleeing the house with a bag full of illicit items.

Unconfirmed reports also indicate that drugs were also found. We will have more on this matter in tomorrow’s newscast when individuals are taken to court.
