Before the break, we showed you the testimony by Immigration Officer Mark Tench and his report on the case of visas that went missing in December 2012. Tench also shared his disbelief that even though he was the only one who has thoroughly investigated the case, in 2016 he was called before the Public Services Commission to face disciplinary requests by the Ministry. If you’re scratching your head and wondering why Tench would face prosecution so were we. Tench said rebukingy that the decision to drag him before the Commission was taken by the former CEO Candelaria Saldivar.

“As far as I know me and Mr. Leslie were blamed for this VISAS being missing, I am the only person that has done any investigation on this matter and even when we got, when they had the hearing last year and we got exonerated from that hearing through the public service commission they still have not done any investigation, and the thing about it is that, it is unfair that the scandal to the department to all the officers that have been dragged here and the real culprits have never been even asked a simple question, it’s so unfair and then on another matter to have Mr. Mortar come here and slander my name publicly that is so”

Aldo Salazar – Chairman Special Senate Select Committee

“What are you referring to?”

Mark Tench - Former Immigration Supervisor, Western Border

“When she came and she said that she took me in front of the Commission and I paid money, nothing none of that is the truth, and I thought that maybe the Committee had done their research concerning what was the result of that previous hearing that we had at the Public Service Commission, we had a hearing there and those even have recordings of those hearing if you want to listen to them but nobody knew and nobody could stop her from scandalling my name.”

Aldo Salazar – Chairman Special Senate Select Committee

“This is the hearing, there are two hearings in relation to you right?”

Mark Tench - Former Immigration Supervisor, Western Border

“No, am talking about Mrs. Saldivar coming here.”

Aldo Salazar – Chairman Special Senate Select Committee

“I want to clarify there are two hearings that involves you for the Public Service Commission?”

Mark Tench - Former Immigration Supervisor, Western Border

“The Public Service Commission, we had a hearing with the Public Service Commission concerning these same VISAS.”

Aldo Salazar – Chairman Special Senate Select Committee

“Yes, but I am asking you, is it yes or now are there two hearings for the Public Service Commission with you or one?”

Mark Tench - Former Immigration Supervisor, Western Border

“No, no, no I am talking about one hearing at this office, here are the Senate and then am talking about another hearing at the Public Service Commission it was a two hearing.”

Aldo Salazar – Chairman Special Senate Select Committee

“You were taken before the Public Service Commission for discipline in relation to the missing VISAS?”

Mark Tench - Former Immigration Supervisor, Western Border

“Yes”

Aldo Salazar – Chairman Special Senate Select Committee

“Right”

Mark Tench - Former Immigration Supervisor, Western Border

“And they used the report that we did to try to say that we are guilty of that.”

Aldo Salazar – Chairman Special Senate Select Committee

“That is what I was referring to when Mrs. Saldivar but I believe she also mentioned another hearing related to you?”

Mark Tench - Former Immigration Supervisor, Western Border

“I didn’t go to any hearing Mrs. Saldivar was not even in the department, she is saying that I was charged sixteen thousand dollars that never happened I have my letter right here saying that I am exonerated from all of those things.”

Our records show that indeed Saldivar had testified that Tench was charged for the value of the visas in relation to the Public Services Commission’s investigation into the missing visas.
