CROP_1_Dj_pic_of_Fidel_Roberto_Chulin_from_Ranchito_Village_COrozal_Fisherman_IMG_7311Nine fishermen from the Chunox, Copper Bank and Ranchito Villages located in the Corozal District were formally arrested and charged this morning after they were found in possession of one thousand one hundred sixty two undersized conchs. They are 21 year old Naigel Baptist, 24 year olds Eder Patt and Melvin Marquez, 40 year old Fidel Roberto Chulin, 62 year old Hipolito Gorosica, 35 year old Roberto De la Cruz, Alvaro De la Cruz, Hilario Teck and Jose Monzon.


Today all nine men appeared in court for their arraignment which lasted approximately two hours. They all pleaded guilty to the respective charges levied against them and were then fined by the court. Failure to meet payments within the specific period of time assigned by the court will result in imprisonment. Together the men received a fine of more than $10,000.00.
