noimageThis morning, Corozal Police removed a large stash of marijuana that could have possibly ended up on the streets of the northern town.

Police say that they searched an abandoned lot in the Altamira Area and found four packages containing a total of 4,185 grams of marijuana. If you’re good at math and conversion, you’ll know that this just over nine pounds of weed. What we don’t expect any of our viewers to know is that the found drugs has a street value of about $10,000.

Police officials have told CTV-3 News that no one was in or near the abandoned lot therefore the drugs is considered found property. It will now be destroyed by the authorities.
