Screen_Shot_2017-04-18_at_7.48.39_PMTonight the family and friends of 49 year old Edgar Wiltshire are in mourning after the well-known taxi driver passed away on Sunday night April 16th at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital in Belize City – six days after he sustained injuries from a severe traffic collision.

On the night of Monday April 10th Wiltshire was driving his grey in colour Chrysler Town and Country van on the Phillip Goldson Highway when it crashed with a dark green in colour Toyota Tacoma pickup truck driven at the time by Justin Goff.

Goff appeared to have suffered the worst impact when he was diagnosed with broken arms and a broken leg. He was rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Wiltshire suffered a broken left leg and was taken to the Corozal hospital. Travelling with him at the time was John Perez who only suffered minor injuries.

Wiltshire later slipped into a more serious condition and was taken to the KHMH where he underwent surgery and then slipped into a coma. He remained on a coma and on life support until Sunday when he passed away quietly.

Wiltshire was also known as a strong supporter of the People’s United Party. He was a campaigner in the Corozal North constituency and an executive member of the PUP Marshalls Service Corps.

We understand from family members that funeral plans are being made for Friday, April 21st at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
