Screen_Shot_2017-05-04_at_7.54.49_PMPolice in Corozal are investigating a kidnapping and robbery report made by 23 year old cane farmer Emir Rosado of Ranchito Village Corozal. Reports reaching CTV3 News indicate that Rosado told police that he and 26 year old Eder Stevenson, a Land consultant and 31 year old cane farmer Eliazar Hall both from the Corozal District were kidnapped by four men as they attempted to purchase a vehicle from them in Ranchito Village around 4:00p.m yesterday.

Reports suggest that the person the trio had been talking with first showed up and he was then joined by three other individuals, two of them armed with long firearms and a pistol. The men reportedly stole from their victims 13 thousand dollars in cash, a blue Infinity Sedan valued at 15 thousand dollars; jewelry; cell phone and wallet, totaling over 33 thousand dollars. Rosado, Stevenson and Hall were then tied up and two of them were placed in the trunk of the Infinity while Eder Hall was placed in the back passenger seat. Hall somehow managed to untie himself and swiped a gun from one of the suspects. When the vehicle came to a stop, he chased one of the assailants into a lot within Carolina Village.

The driver of the vehicle then drove off. The men in the trunk managed to escape at a pedestrian ramp in Calcutta village. Orange Walk Police who were called in for assistance found a Nissan X-Terra abandoned in a farm close to Camp 1 in Shipyard, Orange Walk. They believe it was being driven by a couple of the assailants. That vehicle had been stolen from a businesswoman of Ranchito Village.

Police recovered a black Smith and Wesson pistol and a magazine with several live rounds inside the vehicle. Police have detained three suspects pending charges of kidnapping and robbery. They have recovered some of the jewelry stolen and one of the men was found with over 6 thousand dollars in cash.
