Orange Walk Police are tonight investigating a case of homicide after the badly decomposed body of an unidentified Hispanic male individual was discovered yesterday morning sometime before midday. Official reports indicate that at around 9:00 a.m. a male person informed police that whilst visiting his farm located in the Millers Bight area approximately five miles east of town, he came across an unpleasant smell coming from a cane field located just behind his farm, and upon making checks in the area, he discovered the body.
The individual was reportedly dressed in a black t-shirt, and a blue, orange and white Hawaiian ¾ pants and was wearing a brown footwear of Buffalo brand, however, no form of identification was found on the body. Due to the advance state of decomposition, a post mortem examination was conducted on site which certified the cause of death as fracture to the nasal bone (facial blunt traumatic injuries), fracture to the right greater Horn and bilateral lesser Horns of Hyoid bone and strangulation.
Today we contacted Orange Walk Police who told us that while no one has been reported missing in the area, neither has anyone come forward to identify the body. The matter remains under investigation.
