18836322_10155492724576929_768291905_oThis past weekend, Centro Escolar Mexico Junior College in San Roman Village in the Corozal District celebrated their 9th commencement exercise with the largest graduating class yet consisting of 129 students.


The keynote speaker at this year’s graduation ceremony was no other than the 2016 Ms. Belize Universe Rebecca Rath who represented Belize in stellar fashion in this year’s Ms. Universe. In her message to the students, Ms. Rath spoke of preparing for the realities of life which will include challenges, surprises, victories and losses. She shared his stories of challenge and triumph and how she went from a rough and tough volleyball player and coach to mastering the catwalk on heels.


In his address before the students and parents, Dean of CEMJC Hugo Gonzalez provided a summary of the institutions achievements in sports and academics over the past year. Gonzalez noted that the school is preparing to welcome its largest intake of 1st form students in the upcoming school year. Last year the intake was 175. He added that in the new school year, CEMJC will be launching its associate degree in business entrepreneurship program.


Among the students receiving their Associate degree accreditation, recognised were valedictorian Esmeralda Cal and Salutatorian Jason Cardenas. Cardenas was also recognised as the Student of the Year!
