The search for missing persons 32 year old Zeidy Orosco and 42 year old Baltazar Lopez continued for a fourth day today with no success.
The couple vanished into thin air on the night of Thursday June 1st, last seen by a Police officer along the sea side area along the entrance to Corozal Town.
On Friday, Orosco’s vehicle which she was using on the night she went missing, was found burnt down and abandoned in a private cane field in the outskirts of Patchakan Village.
The families of Zeidy Orosco and Baltazar Lopez immediately began to search the remote areas of the Corozal District, with hopes that they could find their loved ones alive. However, their efforts have not produced results.
The families have been critical of the role the Police have played in the search, noting that they do not consider the efforts sufficient. Corozal Police have yet to give interviews to the media, as they had done in the case of American and Canadian nationals Francesca Matus and Drew Devoursney who had gone missing in a very similar manner and were later discovered dead in cane fields, some four weeks ago.
Today the family extended their search even further in the district, covering all the way to San Victor Village. It is a race against time for the family as hope remains that somehow their loved ones could be found alive.
