Screen_Shot_2017-06-20_at_8.06.38_PMShortly after 11 this morning, Corozal Police received information of a man lying motionless in a yard on William Schofield Street in Corozal Town. When we arrived at the scene the body was being removed from inside the yard by officers.

The body was placed on the back of the Police’s pickup truck and taken to the Corozal Community hospital where the medical doctor examined the body and pronounced the individual dead. The officers then transported the body to the morgue.

We’ve learnt the identity of the man as 57 year old Alfred Price, better known to many as Preesho. He built this shack in this yard and has been living here for almost two years.

Price, we understand, was well known in Corozal Town, both professionally and as one who was deeply involved in sports in the community. He worked as a welder at BSI in Libertad as well as an Immigration Officer. But he was most known as the first President of the Rotaract Club in Corozal and for his love for football as the former goal keeper for the famous La Victoria and BSI Suga Boyz football teams.

We spoke to a family member off-camera who indicated that the 57 year old man was ailing from a disease for some time. They believe he passed away of natural causes and plan to have a funeral service tomorrow.
