Screen_Shot_2017-06-20_at_8.07.35_PMIn last night’s newscast, we reported on a major contraband bust which occurred here in the Orange Walk District involving the Castro brothers namely Jafari and Wasani Castro who were also in the company of Jihani Espadas and Dedric Ramclam. The men were caught in the possession of eighty nine cases of Mexican beers which were confiscated by Customs officials.

Tonight there is another contraband bust to report on… this time though; it was a much smaller bust which involved boxes of vegetables containing cabbage, onions and tomatoes. According to reports reaching our newsroom, the driver of the white pickup truck, tried to evade Customs officials resulting in a pursuit. Further reports state that majority of the items were thrown out of the vehicle during the chase. The white pickup truck then reportedly collided into another vehicle forcing the driver to come to a halt in the area of the Yo Creek Village.

While the identity of the individual or individuals inside the vehicle has not yet been identified, we understand that only four cases of merchandise were recovered and that the vehicle has been impounded at the Customs and Excise Department. Reports suggest that the matter will be settled out of court.
