Screen_Shot_2017-08-15_at_8.22.31_PMAfter almost a week of being sought by police in connection with a case of aggravated assault, Jafari Castro and Gilbert Franklin were detained today and are tonight in police custody pending charges. If you have been in tuned to the news lately, you may be aware that Castro and Franklin along with James Young were wanted by police for ‘harm’ after they allegedly assaulted twenty one year old University student and San Ignacio Basketball athlete, Kevin Brown on Sunday August 5th, 2017 in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye.

Reports indicate that Brown was at a resort with a group of friends when an argument ensued over a piece of jewelry. Police say Brown was attacked by males other than his friends who kicked and then struck him on the head with a fire extinguisher, knocking him unconscious. As a result of the incident, Brown sustained serious head and body injuries which caused him to fall into a coma.

Note that while Jafari Castro, and Gilbert Franklin have been detained, James Young on the other hand, is still on the run and is yet to be located. As we had reported last night, while all men are to face charges of harm, Franklin is expected to be additionally charged with aggravated assault.
