Screen_Shot_2017-12-12_at_7.56.50_PMOver the past two weeks, Belizean athletes from different sporting denominations, including basketball, volleyball, football and athletics among others have been in Managua, Nicaragua representing Belize at the eleventh edition of the Central American Games.

Over the past few days our Belizean players have managed to get on to the medal board.  The national basketball team was the first to receive a medal last week after they defeated El Salvador for the Bronze. Over the weekend veteran athlete Trecia Flores also took a bronze in long jump – and was joined by Katy Sealy who received the silver in Heptathlon.

So far, Belize is behind in medal count, with only six medals: three silvers and three bronzes, Belizeans however are still hoping to increase the country’s medal count as the delegation for table tennis left the country on Monday to participate in the Competition which starts on Wednesday.

The Central American Games are scheduled to conclude on Sunday December 17th in Nicaragua.
