29177746_10156183922064347_911529645193560064_nCorozal Police are investigating the discovery of a murdered man in an area just outside Corozal Town.

On Saturday March 10th afternoon, Corozal Police received information of a motionless body lying on the road side of the San Jomal Road, next to the Slaughterhouse in Corozal.

Upon arriving in the location, they saw a fully clothed male individual lying on his back along the bushes. He wore a brown T-shirt, black long jeans pants and a pair of a black, red and white tennis.

Upon inspection, they discovered that the individual had multiple stab wounds on his abdomen, chest area and a large cut wound across his neck.

The man has been identified as 41 year old Mark Anthony Clarke, who resided on Santa Elena Road in Corozal Town. Reports are that the individual is actually from the Cayo District. Police’s investigations have led to the arrest of multiple persons, and today they provided an update.

“A few yards off the road where they discovered the body of a male person later identified to be Mark Anthony Clarke, 41 years, Belizean of a Santa Rita road address Corozal Town with multiple stab wounds in his chest and abdomen area. The scene was processed that the body was transported to the Corozal community hospital where it awaits a post mortem examination which will be conducted later today. Police investigation has led to the detention of several persons who were interviewed, they conducted several house searches as well as vehicle searches and are following several other leads any information that the public can assist the police with at this point in time will be highly appreciated in order for us to conclude this investigation, so far no charges have been led against any one.”

Clarke was last seen alive on Friday around 9pm. He was not seen alone, however, but Police are not giving further information.

What has been confirmed is that the Police have issued an all-points bulletin for the detention of a female who is believed to have been Clarke’s companion. She has been identified as Alejandra Andino. The Police said she is wanted for questioning.

“The thing is that we are following on several leads in relation to the investigation.”

Post mortem results reveled that Anthony Clarke died as a result Exsanguination due internal and external bleeding due to multiple stab wounds.
