Screen_Shot_2018-05-03_at_7.47.11_PMYesterday afternoon three armed robbers targeted a Chinese store downtown Corozal.

Shortly before 4:00pm, a female Chinese businesswoman and her 13 year old son were inside their establishment Chang Fa Restaurant and Bar located on Park Street North in Corozal Town, when three men wearing caps but no masks entered pretending to buy a juice. One of them, a tall male person of dark complexion then took out a firearm which appeared to be a 9mm gun, while one of the two other men of Hispanic descent took out a knife.

The female businesswoman told us the men forced her and her son into their storage room inside the restaurant, where they were locked up. The men then rummaged through the restaurant searching for valuables. They took a white and silver iPhone 5s, a black Huawei brand cell phone and an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register.

The restaurant has security cameras which captured the entire incident, but the robbers ripped off the cables connected to the surveillance DVR memory which had recorded and stored the images, and they took it with them. Police are investigating this incident.
