electionsToday marks the start of week two in the mass re-registration exercise here in the Jewel. As the process continues across the country today the Elections and Boundaries Department released preliminary figures of total applications received across the country so far which shows that the 2018 Re-registration of Electors Exercise continues to proceed on target.


According to the release preliminary figures for the period 2nd to 7th July 2018 shows that across the country a total a total of sixteen thousand, six hundred and seventy applications have been accepted.


The report further adds that Registration centers continue opened in all thirty-one electoral divisions countrywide to facilitate the acceptance of applications for the registration of electors.


The Department further assures the public that all efforts are being made to address the concerns regarding the re-registration process with the aim of making it more efficient and effective in the service delivery.


Furthermore, all qualified persons are being encouraged to participate in the exercise, especially at this time where additional Registration Centers are open to facilitate the process.


Here in Orange Walk residents are reminded that centers are opened from Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 7:00pm and on Saturdays from 10:00am to 4:00pm and include, San Francisco RC School, La Inmaculada RC School, Chapels School, San Jose Government School, Trial Farm Government School, Louisiana Government School and Guinea Grass RC School.
