policeA resident of Little Belize here in the Orange Walk district was charged with firearm offences after he was caught in possession with unlicensed ammunition over the weekend.


According to official Police reports, authorities were conducting mobile patrol on the San Estevan Road on Saturday shortly before midnight when they came across an individual identified as twenty-four-year-old Johan Klassen sleeping on the San Estevan Bridge.


A search was conducted on Klassen which led authorities to the discovery of three twelve-gauge cartridges in his shirt pocket.


Klassen was charged with the offence of Kept Ammunition without a gun license and appeared today in the Orange Walk Magistrates court where he pled guilty to the charge. Klassen was offered bail in the sum of three thousand dollars which he met, he is to return to court on a later date in the month of September.
