FreeZoneManRobbThere was a brazen assault, robbery and attempted kidnapping in the Corozal Free Zone this morning.

CTV3 News has confirmed that 50 year old Kiran Kumar Solanri, a lab technician of Palmar Village in the Orange Walk District, was assaulted by two male individuals of creole decent.

Solanri reported to the Police that about 11am he was approached by the men who were armed with firearms. They demanded money and stole U.S. $3,000 and 50,000 pesos.

They forced him into his own car trunk and driven to an isolated area in the zone. Solanri was able to escape, however, and called the Police.

Up to news time, Police authorities have not detained any suspects.
