no_imageThe video we’re about to show contains disturbing violence and we warn viewers. It involves a fight that broke out at a handing over ceremony held in the village of Santa Clara following their village council elections. Strangely, this fight is amongst UDP members, and between a man and a woman.

The video shows persons gathered at the Santa Clara community park, when Former Chairlady Deima Sanchez who posted the video on her facebook page, is approached by a recently elected Councillor identified as Calvin Rosalez. Rosalez approaches Sanchez and seems upset. He tells her something which triggers a reaction from Sanchez, and Rosalez responds with the unthinkable. He launches punches at Sanchez, almost as if he’s fighting a man.

The dastardly act is caught by multiple cameras, from multiple angles and shows Rosalez’s assault. The video doesn’t end there, however, as Sanchez attempts to defend herself. Instead of walking away from a fight, Rosalez can be seen pursuing Sanchez to physically attack.

Several persons who were gathered are seen attempting to part the fight, but with no luck.

As we noted, Rosalez was only elected a few days ago and, as far as we know, he remains with his official position. The UDP has made no statement condemning the very disturbing incident, and we have also not heard from the area representative Dr. Angel Campos.

While the video has stirred controversy over social media we are yet to confirm if the former chairlady has filed a police report. We will continue to follow this matter closely.
