This morning the police department also called a press briefing for Lino to field questions from the media. According to Lino, while the incident is being taken seriously and investigated, he says there is enough evidence that the Police officers involved were out of order.

“First and foremost we discourage our officers to use firearm in regards to being attack as they alleged we would prefer for them to use their baton because each police officer is issued with a baton and hence the reason why we have stablished that there are some challenges an hence the reason we also had charged the police officers to have caused the wounds to the complainant right we charged them because we believe that what they did, the action that they have committed was against the Protocols of the Police Department and the discipline of the police department hence the reason why am saying that they will be charged disciplinary likewise.”

“Sir, do you agree that those videos show a very embarrassing side of the police in that it gives the impression that these officers were firing and even if that was not the case those snap shots showed the officers with the firearm and pointing them at the ground and at people is a public relation nightmare for the police department, would you acknowledge that?”

Keith Lino, head, Professional Standards Branch

“Yes it’s a challenge to us sir.”

Reporter

“Can you tell us how many shells were discovered after the officers, how many bullets were discharged from those service weapons?”

Keith Lino, head, Professional Standards Branch

“We find expended shells out there about ten expended shells.”

Reporter

“Is that unusual to find that many shells trying to diffuse a situation with the public?”

Keith Lino, head, Professional Standards Branch

“I think it is reasonable.”

Reporter

“Sir, in terms of the video, what weight will it bear a situation, because we know situations where even the people who are aggressed would say you know what this and that but then the video shows exactly what happened, different angles?”

Keith Lino, head, Professional Standards Branch

“Well, I am not a person who is as good at technology but what I saw let me believe that the police actions like I said it would appears as though that they weren’t justified in what they did.”

According to Lino, the female seen in the video has not been found by their team in order to carry out proper interviews.
