Screen_Shot_2017-11-07_at_7.47.32_PMSix persons are luck to be alive tonight after they were involved in what could have been a deadly traffic accident on the Belize Corozal Road here in Orange Walk. Police responded to the scene of the accident at around 9.06 p.m and upon arrival observed a Grey in color Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck with L/P OW-C-18824, and a Gold in color Ford Escape with L/P OWC-19571 with extensive damages to the front portion. Footage captured by residents of the area show some of the victims on the pavement after being assisted out of the Ford Escape. They were suffering from various degrees of injuries.

The men, as you can observe on your screen were placed in the pan of the police pickup truck and transported to the Northern Regional Hospital for treatment and later some were transferred to the Karl Huesner Memorial Hospital. So what happened last night and was alcohol involved? That is what police is trying to ascertain. Reports so far however, indicate that at about 9:00 p.m., 78 year old Apolonio Pacheco of Guinea Grass Village was driving his Chevrolet Silverado pickup on the Belize Corozal Road from a South to North direction and upon approaching the Project Hope building, the Ford Escape which was traveling in the opposite direction collided into him.

Driving that vehicle at the time was 21 year old Pedrito Ku of San Jose Village. Traveling with Ku at the time of the accident were Gian Juchim, 40 year old Rigoberto Juchim, 16 year old Rowel Cruz and Amid Gomez all of San Jose Village.

Gian Juchim was treated and release from the Northern Regional Hospital, whilst Rigoberto Juchim is listed in a stable condition. Both Amid Gomez and Rowel Cruz are listed in a stable condition at the KHMH. According to police reports blood sample was obtained from both Ku and Pacheco who escaped injuries. Police investigation continues.
