noimageThree Caribbean Tourists are tonight behind bars at the Belize Central Prison after a substantial quantity of illicit drugs was found in their room inside the Norwegian Escape Cruise Ship that was docked at Harvest Caye in southern Belize.

According to Police reports on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 about 8:45 a.m., Placencia Police were called to the Norwegian Escape Cruise Ship docked at Harvest Caye in southern Belize where security officers reported that they had found suspected drugs in a cabin on the ship occupied by Derson Frank, 30 years of age, of St. Vincent.


Frank was escorted to his cabin where a search conducted by police revealed the items to be controlled drugs. During the investigation, police found out that two other men were involved, Renaldo Kerron Roberts of St. Vincent and Jamal Nathus Celise of St. Lucia. Each package found was weighed and amounted to 1.065kg. The men were charged with two counts of drug trafficking jointly and are presently remanded at the Belize Central Prison.

While unconfirmed reports indicate that the drugs found was cocaine, Police have not yet confirmed even after several queries were made by the media.
