Since Friday afternoon strong rumors indicated that a dead body had been found somewhere in Orange Walk Town. Allegations were that the dead body of a male individual was found in a dirt pit near the Village of Chan Pine Ridge. But those reports proved false when police visited the area. Still, all indications were that there was a dead body somewhere in Orange Walk Town.

This afternoon those reports proved true when the badly decomposed body of 21 year old Abel Arturo Robinson, a resident of Orange Walk Town, was found in the Palmar Area with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head. Hipolito Novelo and cameraman Kenric Simpson arrived at the scene minutes after the body was discovered and filed the following report.

The family of 21 year old Abel Arturo Robinson last saw him alive on Friday morning when he left home in the company of friends. As night came and Robison didn’t return home the family started to worry especially since rumors were already circulating that a dead body had been found somewhere in Orange Walk Town.

“I went back to station and I give a formal report but they told me to bring a picture so that they could know who they will look for and went back home and they told me and said that they kill your little brother so I told him to go with me to station and I told him that I need someone to go with me so I gone home and I tell my wife hear what I going back to station and I tell chepo if he got the picture of my little brother and he told yes and we gone and by the time we make the report he say something is going on and like that but we didn’t expect nothing bad to happen to our little brother but they say they kill my little brother by Friday but the rumors on the street.”

But Robinson’s body was not found on Friday or Saturday. So his family continued the search in hope of finding him alive but at the same time fearing the worst. And today the family’s worst fears proved true when Robinson’s badly decomposed body was found in some bushes near the Village of Palmar with appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head.

“We went to mall pit and we were searching from morning all the way out and the my cousin say we have this strong feeling by the house so he said it is around here but we didn’t take it to heart but one young lady we meet said that we are smelling something that stinks from Saturday so we went and everything look normal then my next boys them done got hype up and they went over the other side then my cousin told me to look over there fresh track so we start to follow the track but when we are going more and more the track looked that hype but never smelled the scent we see john-crow then they said that we find him.”

J Arnold was one of the five men who were looking for Robinson. Today, as his friend’s dead body waited to be carted away behind a police vehicle, Arnold described to us what the scene looked like.

“I saw the body because we out here this morning we were searching for our friend and just now like twenty minutes ago is when we discover him back there all decompose.”

“Are you able to describe the body?”

J Arnold, friend

“Well, his were out, already decompose, around his mouth already eaten up, his hands were swollen understand.”

“Are you able to see any physical indication of any stab wound to say maybe he was murdered?”

J Arnold, friend

“No, that is why a post mortem will take place back there an hopefully we get the answer to those questions but right now we don’t what happened because we don’t see no signs or any wounding but to our knowledge he was shot.”

While police have not been able to ascertain the motive behind Robinson’s death, family and friends are pointing fingers and even say have a motive.

“He no straight so in our mind we feel that they chance he, they force the man back here.”

“So your suspicious are that he was indeed murdered?”

“Murder, cold blood, no question about it murder”

“Since the Friday that he went missing probably that is when he was murdered?”

“Murder, exact Friday he was murdered because we know who took him and when they took him he was killed, from Friday he was dead.”

CTV3 understand that up to news time the body was still on site awaiting a post mortem examination. Reliable sources indicate that Robinson was not the intended target in this latest homicide. Reports are that the murderer was looking for one of Robinsons friends who allegedly had a weapon that belonged to him. But when the murderer did not find Robinson’s friend he decided to send him a message and that is how the 21 year old ended up dead. So far no one has been detained.
