Politics

In Orange Walk South, P.U.P Standard Bearer Jose Abelardo Mai has been working overtime ensuring that he meets with all voters of the constituency. During his house to house campaign Mai has been listening to the concerns of residents of the area who for the past three years and a half have been neglected by Mark Pech. Under Pechs term the South saw no progress and today residents are questioning where he was when onion producers lost hundreds of thousands of dollars and one of the countrys major rice producers closed down for business. Well, we have that answer for you. Pech was nowhere to be found, in fact, our records show that not once did he speak out in support of the onion producers or much less the rice producers of Blue Creek. This is the second time that Mai is running for the seat of Orange Walk South but according to him this time the wind is blowing in favor of the P.U.P.

“We suspected that the Prime Minister would call the election early so we when ahead preparing our machinery from village to village, we have seven polling stations, we more than ten villages, so w have to prepare in each village what we call the campaign machinery, so every single village right now has a campaign machinery in place with a very, very viable and a very, very dedicated leader and we have more than one leader in the village and we have people assigned to do the various activities for that day, so we are prepared we have always say to be prepared and we are prepared.”

Mai, as we all know, is going up against Rosendo Chendo Urbina Sr. considered to be a man with big bucks. But Mai says that despite the financial differences change will come on March 7th.

Jose Abelardo Mai- P.U.P Orange Walk South Standard Bearer

For Mai developing the Agricultural Sector in the South will be one of his main priorities.
