Screen_shot_2012-02-08_at_8.12.57_PMWith just about four weeks before the Municipal and General Elections the P.U.P Town Council Candidates in the Orange Walk division are wasting no time in ensuring Orange Walkenos that their team comprised of 6 vibrant males and one female will bring change to the community.

Yesterday Mayoral candidate Kevin Bernard and his team of councilor candidates met with residents of San Victor Street and surrounding areas as they held their fourth neighborhood meeting. The meeting gave way for residents to voice out their concerns as well as for the candidates to speak on why they should be elected this coming election.

Ian Cal, PUP councilor candidate

“The people are very anxious, the people came out, and the people are willing to have that dialogue something that has been missing for far too long and we the PUP SEVEN  are offering that, this is the 4th meeting that we have been having around our town and suddenly not the last, people are excited about it, people are coming out, people are expressing their views, what is affecting them and what are the plans that we have for our town.”

According to Bernard the aim of the neighborhood meetings is to pool public ideas and incorporate those ideas into the PUP manifesto.

Kevin Bernard, PUP Mayoral Candidate

“The purpose of these meetings is to engage with our residents to hear from them, to listen to them, and also to bring out our plans that we have, while we have been on the campaign trial this is something that we are telling the residents that we will continue to do once elected in this council and the feedback has been very positive.  I think what has come out of these meetings are good ideas that we are also incorporating in our manifesto, the people are saying that they are fed up, they are not happy and we are discussing both local and national issues, they say they are not happy with the local town council, they are not happy with the government and they are looking for us as a change, they are looking at the PUP SEVEN and in this areas where John Briceno still have their support they are looking up to him to go in once again and to be elected once more are the area representative and a new PUP town council.”

And without a doubt when you compare the P.U.P Team and the U.D.P headed by Ivan Leiva the difference is clear because while the U.D P Team is campaigning on a motto of magnificence, the P.U.P Team is campaigning on a motto of serving the people.

Kevin Bernard, PUP Mayoral Candidate

“We have a very committed and a united team, what I can safely say here today is that our team continue to work together, we continue to come up with our ideas and plans, this team is a very hard working team and committed team it is individuals that have worked within this community, people that are dedicated to this community and we have decided to return to the roots of this party, to serve the people and we continue to spread this message and as we go out there people are telling us remain positive and we have gotten so much blessings from individuals from within different homes and I think that even tells us that we are the best team and we will continue to work hand in hand with the people of Orange Walk.”

And since San Victor Street falls under the Orange Walk Central Constituency John Briceno also addressed the crowd asking for their support for the Blue Team.

Jonny Briceno, Area representative

“I am very excited about the PUP SEVEN with Kevin Bernard leading the team and the other six candidates I think that this is one of the best teams that the PUP has presented to the people of Orange Walk town in a very, very long time, we have people that are young, capable, dynamic, hard working they are people that love to deal with people and they are dedicated, candidates that want to make a difference in Orange Walk Town, so I don’t have absolutely no problem walking with them and asking the good people of Orange Walk Central to give them their support.  I have every confidence that on March 7th the people of Range Walk Town they are going to vote for Kevin Bernard as the mayor for Orange Walk, the six councillor candidates as the new council for Orange Walk Town and also that I believe that I have every confidence that the people of Orange Walk Central will give me their support once more.”

The PUP seven is completely dedicated to serving the people of Orange Walk Town and believes that the publics interest is best served when there exists a free exchange of ideas.
