Over the past few months the Football Federation of Belize has been holding elections for their district representatives. Here in Orange Walk the election was won by Rawell Pelayo and his team.
But unlike Orange Walk there were no elections in the Corozal District since only one team applied to represent the federation in Corozal. With no other teams contesting the available posts, this past Sunday, incumbent Frank Sutherland was endorsed as the Chairman of the Corozal Football Association Federation of Belize.
We spoke to Sutherland via phone today and asked him about his plans and that of his team to develop football in Corozal.
Frank Sutherland, Chairman, Corozal FFB
“My plans for next month in February, I will be starting first division and also be doing a U-16 both male and female and also be doing a U-12 both male and female but our main objective is to try to bring across coaches so that they can train our local coach so the job will be easier for us.”
The rest of the team is comprised of Vice Chairman Miguel Alcoser and Mario Cassanova, Baltazar Chan and Anastacio Che as members.

“This guys is in our association, most of these guys are ex-football players with good experience and both of them had owned teams in the past, even in the present they got something that they are dealing with, eve myself as the chairman I take my own time and go to different villages and do a different kind of training but mostly with first division teams and young kids and also because we have teams from Sarteneja, chunox, Copper Bank and Progresso and I have to cross two ferries sometimes to go and train these guys.”
The Football Federation of Belize is now accepting nominations for elections to the Executive Committee of the FFB. All interested parties should note that all nominations must be submitted to the FFB Secretariat no later than Monday, February 6th.
